Welcome to Redreach’s Outbound feature. This feature allows you to easily automate your Reddit DM messaging without getting banned. To make this happen we have built an extension for your browser that will act as if a real user (you) does the outreach while in reality you can go and focus on other more productive things.
Here are the steps on how to get started.
Step 1: Install from Chrome Web Store
- Visit the Redreach extension page in the Chrome Web Store
- Click "Add to Chrome"
- When prompted, click "Add extension" to confirm
The extension will install automatically and the Redreach icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
Step 2: Grant Permissions
During installation, Chrome will request permissions for:
- Reddit domains (
reddit.com,chat.reddit.com) - Required to automate messaging and track responses
- Storage - Saves your campaigns, contacts, and settings locally
- Active tab - Detects which Reddit page you're viewing
These permissions are necessary for the extension to function. Redreach operates entirely in your browser and never accesses your Reddit password or account credentials. No worries, we don’t do anything else with your data.
Step 3: Login to Reddit with your Reddit Account
- Make sure you are logged in to Reddit with your own Reddit Account
Step 4: Connect to Your Redreach Account
- Click the Redreach extension icon that you can find on the center right of the website (You will only see this icon on the Reddit.com website)
- Click "Sign In" or "Connect Account"
- Log in with your Redreach account credentials
- Select your project from the dropdown (if you have multiple)
Your extension is now connected and ready to use!
Please note that if you do not have an active Redreach account yet you will need to create one via our webapp before you login via the extension. We currently do not support account creation via the extension.

First-Time Setup
Verify Your Reddit Account
The extension needs to detect which Reddit account you're logged into:
- Make sure you're logged into Reddit in your browser
- Navigate to any Reddit page (like
reddit.com/r/startup)
- Click the orange Redreach tab on the right side of the page to open the sidebar
- Go to Settings (gear icon at bottom)
You should see your Reddit username displayed under "Reddit Account Connected." If not, click "Refresh Reddit Account" to detect it.
Configure Your Daily Limit
Before running your first campaign, set a safe daily limit:
- In the Settings tab, find "Daily Limit per Reddit Account"
- Start with a conservative number based on your account age:
- New accounts (< 6 months): 5-15 DMs/day
- Medium accounts (6-24 months): 15-60 DMs/day
- Aged accounts (2+ years, high karma): 60-100+ DMs/day
- You can always increase this later as you build trust
Tip: It's better to start low and scale up gradually than to risk getting rate-limited by Reddit.
Set Your Message Delay
The delay between messages helps your automation appear more human:
- In Settings, find "Delay Between Messages"
- Set to 1-5 seconds minimum (varies by plan)
- Higher delays = safer, but slower campaigns
Your plan tier determines the minimum delay (Startup/Pro: 3 seconds, Growth/Professional: 1 second).
Accessing the Sidebar Interface
The Redreach sidebar is your command center for all outreach activities.
Opening the Sidebar
Method 1: Orange Tab
- Look for the orange "Redreach" tab on the right edge of any Reddit page
- Click it to slide out the sidebar
Method 2: Extension Popup
- Click the Redreach icon in your browser toolbar
- Click "Open Sidebar" (if available)
Navigating the Sidebar
The sidebar has four main sections accessible via icons at the bottom:
- Dashboard (home icon) - Overview of your campaigns and daily stats
- Campaign Setup (target icon) - Create and configure campaigns
- Settings (gear icon) - Configure limits, account settings, and preferences
Click any icon to switch between views. Your settings and campaign data are saved automatically.
